Named after the all-knowing yōkai from Japanese folklore, Hakutaku aims to be a treasure trove of manga knowledge.
Editor & Writer
For nearly thirteen years, Alana has been an avid fan of Japanese visual culture, stemming from the days she watched Cyborg 009 after school. Now, she’s committed to teaching others all about manga and its impact on society, both domestic and abroad. To fuel her reading habits, Alana works as a full-time digital content writer. If she’s not tracking down the latest retro manga releases, she’s probably chilling with her three pet frogs.
Mel graduated with a BA in Japanese and minors in Writing and Women’s Studies. She’s currently an editor for a small publisher and translates niche Japanese novels in her free time. Her other interests include art history, particularly Baroque art, and drawing. Mel’s favorite frozen yogurt is chocolate with marshmallow sauce.
Are you a manga mega fan, passionate about the industry, and interested in building your writing portfolio? Then we want to hear from you! For more information about becoming a guest writer, shoot Alana an email over at firstname.lastname@example.org!
